His passion is in security automation because he’s spent far too much time repeating the same simple tasks throughout his 15 years in the field. Previously, he was an engineer at Dropbox and a consultant at Mandiant and Rapid7, and he’s seen a little bit of everything that defensive operations have to offer.
Marcus Young is a Senior Software Engineer at Fastly, where he builds tools and infrastructure that help teams move quickly and safely. He’s spent the last 15+ years working across software development, DevOps, platform engineering, and security, with a strong focus on automation and making systems easier to work with. Previously at Reddit and Zapier, he helped teams improve reliability and ship faster through better tooling and cloud infrastructure. Marcus is especially interested in the sweet spot where developer experience and security meet.
Simran is a Staff Security Researcher at Fastly where he focuses on threat intelligence, vulnerability research, and product innovation. He enjoys researching novel attack techniques and fortifying technology to prevent real-world web attacks. He has spent his career on both the offensive and defensive sides of the industry in both public and private sectors with an emphasis on building modern security solutions.
