The Beyond Identity Passwordless Identity Platform runs as an authentication engine that lets users login to applications and desktops from any of their trusted devices without insecure passwords, one-time codes, or a second device.Complementing the platform, the Beyond Identity Authenticator replaces passwords with proven, tested X.509 certificates – the technology underpinning Transport Layer Security (TLS). The authenticator delivers a granular security posture at the exact time of login, so companies can establish user and device trust in real-time and make automated risk policy-based access decisions. Private keys are securely stored in the secure enclaves, so no key/certificate management or specialized hardware on modern devices is required. “Beyond Identity's first objective was to empower users to go passwordless,” the company wrote in its entry. “Its identity platform reduces enterprise risk and cost, while granting end users access to applications and desktops from any user-provisioned trusted device without passwords or having to pick up a second device.”
